Oh the conversations I have

It started last night. With me and Mikey as we were going to bed we were chatting. Here is a vague transcript of what I can remember. Mikey will be in red I will be in purple

I'm going to die of exhaustion

You can't die of exhaustion.

You know what, now I'm going to die of exhaustion just to spite you.

They wont know you died of exhaustion.

Yeah, I've seen tv, I know how it works. The autopsy people will see that I died of exhaustion. And spite. Some how they will find out it was out of spite.

"Joe did you just lick the body?" "Yep. Tastes like spite."

To which I almost died laughing. I love my Mikey, he is so funny and insane.

Then I had a conversation with Mikey's little sister at dinner. It went something like this: (I'm still purple, Mikey's sister Madison will be in green)

Is your dad half Mexican?

What? No. He's Indian.

Oh! That's why you were your hair in braids.

Uh... No I actually just like braids

Sacajawea wore braids

(enter Mikey's mom who will be yellow)

Mom are half anything

What do you mean?

Like half Mexican, or half Indian?

No...?

Oh. Dad's got to be at least half Asian. Or else he couldn't get so tan.

It was the most innocently racist conversation I've ever had. Kids are so awesome. Or maybe Mikey's family is just insane. Either way, it has made my last couple days pretty funny :)

RIP Pit

Hello folks. Here is a blog.

Firstly, here is a video I made. Enjoy.

Secondly, I'm very sad over the death of my beta fish. His name was Pit, after the video game character from Kid Icarus. I'm sad. He was a good fish. We had him for a little over 2 years. RIP my little Pitley.

Yeah. So we are going fish shopping tomorrow. It should be interesting. I want fish that can have friends. I always felt so sad that Pitley, being a beta fish, could not have anyone else in his bowl. He must have been sad. I'm glad he did not die alone. Poor little guy.

Yeah, well that's all I have for today. I'll let you all know about the fishes that we get tomorrow. Toodles.

Welcome, 2010

I really had nothing against 2009 (aside from all the dead celebrities. Billy Mayes, you will be missed) but 2010 does seem to be off to a good start for all my loved ones.

I had a really amazing Christmas, and a really fun New Year. But what I want to talk to you about today is movies. I have seen a couple really amazing movies lately, and I feel the need to share my opinion and views.

Firstly, a little while back I saw The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. You know, Heath Ledger's last film? Well let me just say that I loved it. It was so beautiful, it told such an interesting and sad story, and... well... I dunno. It had that "something". You know, that thing that makes a movie wonderful, but you really can't describe why. It had that.

Its about a man named Parnassus (you may recognize the name from the title) and after countless bets with the devil he owes his daughter's soul. But Mr Devil gives him one last bet, if he can get to five souls before the devil does then he can keep his daughter's soul.

Enter Heath Ledger. A man they rescue who has no idea who he is. But with his good looks and charm he easily lures people in and helps them with the wager. But there is alot more going on with him then anyone realizes.

I really enjoyed it. The visuals were astounding, and the story was enchanting. Though, if you are not a fan of really weird, then you may not enjoy it. It was really weird. But that suits me just fine :)

Nextly, The Invention of Lying. I really did not expect anything from this. I thought it would be silly and fun, but that's about it. But to my pleasant surprise it was really good, and thoughtful. In a world were no one has ever even heard of the concept of dishonesty a man suddenly realises he has the ability to lie. So he uses this to his advantage and becomes famous and rich.

But when his mom gets sick and he tells her all this stuff about what happens after you die, and someone over hears it turns into this big thing.

It was really good and surprisingly heartfelt. I was a fan, even though I didn't think I would be.

And Last but not least: Dorian Gray. Who here knows the story of Dorian Gray? Anyone? I will tell you anyway.

The Picture of Dorian Gray is a story by Oscar Wilde. It is about a young man who trades his soul to remain young and attractive forever. His soul is put into a painting of him. Whatever he does no longer affects him, just the painting.

At first he feels free and goes about doing just whatever he pleases. He has sex, does drugs, whatever because he knows he can and not be affected by it. He even kills.

Well after long years of deprived living, he looks at this painting and realizes, "Hey, wait a minute, this is my soul! I am one messed up guy!" So he tries to be good and do good to reverse the damage. But he can't. All the damage is still there.

Eventually this drives him insane and he stabs a sword into the painting, killing himself.

Personally I've loved this story ever since my creative writing teacher read it to the class. It is not for everyone, but I love stories like this. Which is why I was so annoyed with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The ruined his story. Jerks.

Anyway, so they made a movie out of the real story. And it is SSOOO AMAZING!!! I am so in love. Its creepy, disturbing, weird, but meaningful, and deep at the same time. Wonderful.

I could really talk about this forever, but now seems like as good a place as any to stop. So I hope you are having a wonderful 2010, and that is all I've got to say for my first blog of the year. Toodles.
